I got fired earlier this year (totally my fault, though) but I am now working a job for twice the salary I was previously. But shit, man, that blows. Best of luck to you

That sucks but like some of the others have mentioned, you can now get paid more or finder a better opportunity for yourself. Enjoy your holidays and use this as motivation for the new year.

That’s unfortunate. I got fired about 10 years ago right before Thanksgiving and 4 years later, at a different company, I put in my FOUR weeks notice about 2 weeks before Christmas and they told me to “get out”. Now I’ve moved to a different state twice and have a great job with great security. I couldn’t ask for more. Maybe this will lead you down a more fulfilling path. When life knocks you down, get up, punch it in the face, and show it that you’re the boss and you’ll make shit happen. Good luck to you!

Ugh. I got fired on the Friday before Thanksgiving about 3 years ago.
I took the time off (almost three months on Unemployment Benefits) to reflect where I was in my career (I was very “new” and young at the time) and regeared myself toward a different part of construction.. And I am more comfortable and have better job security.
Don’t worry man, keep your head up, you’ll find something you’ll like eventually.

My fiance was let go just before Thanksgiving, her dick-head boss beat yours by a few weeks!
Sorry to hear it though, it sucks and especially around the holidays when you’ve already planned/spent money on presents and such. Not a good time.
